Meet Sherry & Floyd: the latest members of the Woodend Family

We’re delighted to introduce Sherry and Floyd, two very special new additions to life at Woodend Country Childcare!

The ponies paid a visit to the children at nursery, and it’s safe to say the excitement was unmistakable from the moment they arrived. Every child had the chance to get involved, grooming their coats, feeding them carrots and, for those who fancied it, even sitting on them.

Lucy and Claire were on hand throughout, chatting to the children about how to care for Sherry and Floyd properly, from what they eat to where they live. It was a wonderful, hands-on way for the children to learn about animal care and responsibility, all while having the time of their lives.

Moments like these are what make life at Woodend so special. We can’t wait for Sherry and Floyd to become firm favourites with the children in the months ahead!

Baby Bunnies

(9 months-2 years)

Our beautiful babies are well supported by caring, experienced and highly qualified mothers and practitioners. We provide a range of experiences from tummy time and sensory soft play to baby Picasso and getting out in nature.

Chirpy Chicks

(2-3 years)

Our Toddlers are actively supported by highly qualified and experienced practitioners through a range of activities from dancing, yoga and pilates, to baking delicious healthy snacks and experimenting in the mud kitchen.

Little Lambs

(3-5 years Pre-school)

In Pre school, with our Little Lambs up to five years, we encourage independence, literacy, communication and interaction skills. In forest school, we create activities such as den building and using tools to support physical development.
